Workshop Overview
Our full day workshop is designed by graduates who have been through the placement process, and reveal how you can prepare yourself to meet recruiter expectations.
PART ONE
Finding the right door for you
In Part 1 of the workshop we're challenging the myth that you need to apply to 30+ placements to secure an offer. We'll teach you how to adopt a more strategic approach and focus your energy on the companies that really matter to you.
PART TWO
Getting your foot in the door
In Part 2 it's all about focusing on how you can deliver a good first impression by showcasing your skills and experience. We'll provide you with the guidance and insight on how to build your CV, cover letter and online brand that will attract recruiters.
PART THREE
Opening the door
In Part 3 we'll walk you through the specific techniques used to tackle interviews and assessment centres, by building an "ideal candidate profile" and learning how to beat the "grading system".

About us
University is an interesting phenomenon. You focus so much of your time on getting good grades that you forget what the ultimate goal of a university degree is – getting a job. However, no one teaches you how to do that, such as how to write a CV when you have little experience, how to write an attractive cover letter, or how to create a personal brand that will attract recruiters from top organisations. We had to go through this process, and once we came out the other side, we decided that this is a problem that needs to be addressed. Which is why we started opendoor.
Our mission
We believe the best solution to any problem is to find someone who has experienced and overcome that problem and learn from them. This is why we decided to create a peer to peer style workshop, where you learn from our experience, insights, failures, and successes so that you can have the best chance of building the career you want, just like we did. You don’t need to be a genius to work in a Fortune 500 company. All it takes is the right attitude and preparation.
